Reasons to Work in Colorado

Colorado is reported the second happiest state in the U.S., according to its residents. The mountains, many skiing trips, and thriving economy make Colorado one of the most popular places to move. But, not only is Colorado one of the best places to live, it’s also a great place to work! These are just a few of the reasons why you can’t be in a better place than Colorado to land your next job:

Growing economy. In 2009, the Colorado job market was hit hard with recession; but, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act helped the state recover in tourism and oil industries by 2015. That year unemployment rates dropped to 4%, and in 2016 it remained just as healthy. Colorado offers much of the nation’s mining and agricultural economic output.

Education level. Colorado is a great place to work because the majority of the urban population is college-educated, and the state has many great places to start or finish school. Colorado is ranked well in secondary school education levels and is one of the best places to raise a family. There are many incentives for high school graduates to pursue a college education, which not only raises the standard of living, but diversifies the job market substantially.

Recreation. After work, there are plenty of things to do in Colorado. You won’t have to take far-away vacations to see the nation’s most beautiful natural landscapes. The mountains and lakes are breathtaking and perfect for family getaways. If you live close to one of the major cities in Colorado, you’ll be delighted to find many historical sites, art districts, and music that mixes a diverse culture of Colorado locals.

S.T.E.M. Jobs. Colorado has become a close runner to states like California and New York in terms of entrepreneurial growth. Many technology industries, especially those that deal with agriculture and renewable energy, are growing at unprecedented rates in the state. This opens the doors to more science, technology, engineering and mathematics related opportunities for professionals in these fields.
